Chillin' at the Cr8tive cave:

PeeWee Play: at Esc Community Center

Baking day: Homemade Apple Cinnamon muffins

Happy 6th Bday Shane (5.27)

Happy 1st Bday Carly (6.2)

Happy 5th Bday Matt (6.8)

Rainy Day: Snowball Toss

Summer Readers: Kenz and Shane (now that he's a professional reader...lol) are being sooo competitive....but it just benefits them more! They have to read (and keep a log of) a certain amount of books. Each time we go to the library they submit their list and they get a goody bag and a raffle ticket for end of program drawing (we haven't been told what that prize is....a book? :P) Even Gavin gets to participate. This is great cause it gets us out and keeps the older kids reading and gets the younger ones interested. Now, I wish I liked books! LOL! Because of them, I have taken the lead and have started reading...just not as competitively....I cant sit in one spot and do just one thing very often.....even if I wasnt taking care of these kidz. Anyway, you should check out your local library...they probably do the same thing!
Making GOOP: Esc Comm Cntr/Library (BTW: goop didnt last long...and Im okay with that)

Pet Rocks: My favorite! (They were all great but, never seen Gavin so creative....I didnt help one bit!). Check out their creations.....from top left (of rock pic): Mackenzie, Matt, Gavin, Shane

Crazy Hair Day/Bookmark Making/Story-time

I know, some of you may be wondering: "Hey, what about Carly and Melanie?" Well, they come too, but sit on the sidelines with me and watch their awesome siblings and friends. I think they are taking mental notes :) Here they are doin' their thang while the others are busy getting Cr8tive!

Bye for now. Working on next post right now.......

ReplyDeleteHi Susan
This is WONDERFUL!!!! I get to see what you and the kids (yours and ours) are doing. Jennifer and Mitch are very lucky to have you as a friend and as daycare for Mackenzie, Matthew and Melanie. I love it that you don't have them sitting in front of a TV all day everyday. They are actually doing things - using their minds and bodies. Great to hear that Shane and Kenz are both into their reading. I knew that Shane was competitive, that will hopefully help Mackenzie as well. I look forward to seeing the next lot of pictures. Little Melanie and Carly are so adorable. I see Carly still has her beautiful big blue eyes.
I love all the photos but my favorite in that batch is the one of Gav and Melanie in deep converstation (ha ha). I was just wondering what both of them were thinking when you snapped that shot. The "daycare" picture with the letters and numbers on the wall, decorations etc. looks great. Thank you Susan for being such a big part of our grand-kids lives. You are doing an awesome job. best.
Love, Wendy
Nothing like putting a smile on my face that lasts and lasts!! Love those pictures! Favorite, if I had to pick...the picnic table group & Gavin and Melanie...oh and the pet rocks! I'm so proud of all the kids, but most of all proud of you for being such a great Mom, "Aunt" & Mentor to all kidz!!! You are ALWAYS planning ways of how to get them moving & thinking in positive ways. There is seldom a dull moment in their/your day...I know, I've witnessed first hand! Even when it's nap time, you make sure the older ones are quietly busy with reading, homework, or hanging out with them & promoting conversation. Don't know how you do it, but I know the kidz are glad you do it, & me too! :) The benefits of your love & devotion to your hard work with "Cr8tive Kidz" & your own kids are life long lessons & memories for all the lives you touch.
